Ink and Paint Systems
This diagram illustrates the process. With Ink-and-Paint Systems, the parts in grey are done with computers.
The stages are:
elimination of noise on scanned images
manual closing of gaps between strokes
painting using a seed-fill algorithm
geometrical transformations and compositing onto a background painting painting as with a
rostrum
.
shooting on film or video.
Problems:
painful and laborious task
no economies of scale
storing images for reuse is very/too expensive
no feedback from the computerized part to the creative part
