For me, the squiggly line in this image indicates:

 Set A contains other hidden sets.
 There are more unique elements in set A than in B or C. 
 A bar chart for stock prices.
 Some uncertainty regarding the membership of some elements to set A.
 The drawing was incomplete and this line was added by a person in free hand.
 An unintended printing mistake.
